We recently told you all about Baltimore’s Best Gyms, but not all fitness fanatics are the same. If you like to switching up your workouts, or prefer group/speciality classes, Baltimore has a wide range of specialty studios to give you unique workout experiences.
We’ve compiled a few of our favorites – spanning multiple neighborhoods in Baltimore – as suggestions.
Lift Yoga + Strength. Lift is a studio that strives to bring guests/members the best of both worlds with classes than incorporate both yoga and strength training. Yoga classes at Lift focus on restoration and renewal while fitness classes aim to combine high intensity with recovery. The best part? This mind + body oasis is tucked into the body of an old Mount Vernon church. It truly feels like a sanctuary for the body and mind!
YogaWorks – Baltimore. With dedicated yoga studios throughout the city, YogaWorks is another great specialty studio for those looking to solely focus on yoga — learning, practicing, and obtaining teaching certifications. They have locations in Federal Hill, Fells Point, and Midtown for your convenience! You can see level and class type at the location nearest you HERE.
CorCycle Studio. In the heart of downtown, CorCycle is the perfect location for a work day sweat sesh. Their 40-bike studio is right off Historic Charles Street and with a variety of instructors, you’re bound to find a time and vibe that’s right for you. A single class costs $21, but with a $99 unlimited monthly membership, their classes could easily turn out to be the Cor of your week!
Movement Lab. Located above R.House in Remington, the Movement Lab also focuses on aligning mind and body for a holistic approach to fitness. Every class aims to be a catalyst for MOVEMENT rather than a fitness class, but a workout isn’t a bad side effect. Flooded with natural light, the Movement Lab offers AntiGravity Aerial Yoga, Adult Hip Hop, and Family Jam classes for a variety of experiences. Learn more about their packages and rates HERE.
Seya Wellness – Yoga. The Baltimore neighborhood of Highlandtown calls Seya Wellness home. We highlighted their CrossFit space on our last post, but the diverse space also has a dedicated yoga studio. The unique thing about Seya’s yoga program is that all classes are community classes! And each class is only $7.
RevCycle Baltimore. As the name suggests, RevCycle Studio’s class list contains high intensity, cycling classes — but the studio also offers barre classes with an athletic twist. Their two locations – Brewer’s Hill in Canton and McHenry Row in Federal Hill – offer a variety of classes varying by length, the use of weights, and/or the class’ music selection (i.e. Khalid vs. Post Malone?) It’s proximity to some of Baltimore’s most populated residential neighborhoods makes RevCycle Baltimore a viable option for a before-work or after-work sweat session!
BeachFit Baltimore. BeachFit Baltimore is truly one of the most unique fitness experiences in Baltimore. The studio, located between Harbor East and Fells Point, focuses on bringing beach vibes to Baltimore. BeachFit offers Beach, Burn, Build, and Balance classes, each designed to help you reach a different fitness goal. If you’ve ever wanted to get a taste of surfing, even in the Winter, this is the spot for you.
M Power Yoga. M Power is another specialty yoga studio located in Brewer’s Hill/Canton (in the Natty Boh Tower, may we add.) One of the unique things about M Power’s lineup is their Music in Motion class, a class that brings live musicians into the studio to accompany your poses. Game to try it out but not sure if you’ll love yoga? New students receive 30 days of unlimited classes for only $30!
Orange Theory Fitness – Harbor East. A popular fitness class throughout the US, Orange Theory also has a studio in the heart of Harbor East! Post-class, participants are given their statistics – calories burned, average HR – so it’s an attractive route for performance-oriented workouts. With 60 minute classes, workouts changing daily, and milestones to help push you to the finish line, Orange Theory is ideal for those looking to maximize their time while getting immediate feedback on their performance! You can read more about memberships HERE.
